The three day District/ Station Commanders’ and Works Conference – 2026 of Coast Guard Region (West) was held at Regional Headquarters, Worli, Mumbai from August 19 to August 2026.
The conference was presided over by Inspector General Bhisham Sharma, Commander, Coast Guard Region (West), and was attended by the District Commanders of four states viz Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, and Union Territory of Lakshadweep & Minicoy. Additionally, Commanding Officers, Officer-in-Charges, Superintendents, Chief Engineer (CG) and respective MES Officers in the Region, also attended the Conference.
The conference reviewed the operational readiness and directed for extensive measures to meet challenges of an ever increasing mandate of Indian Coast Guard in alignment with steadfast principles encapsulated in Coast Guard motto – Vayam Raksham (We Protect). The achievements of units despite limitations, were highlighted. The conference brought forth the best solutions to the evolving challenges of the Region during multiple brain storming sessions over the 03 days period.
During the conference, deliberations and brainstorming sessions were aimed at addressing emerging operational challenges and evolving innovative, practical and sustainable solutions. Emphasis was also accorded to infrastructure development, modernisation of facilities and optimum utilization of skilled manpower to sustain operational efficiency with special emphasis to improve the quality of life of Coast Guard personnel.
The conference underlined the commitment of Indian Coast Guard Region(West) towards operational excellence, technological advancement and self-reliance, in consonance with the Government of India’s vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Digital India”.
